BUILD PRACTICAL SKILLS

Understand threats. Investigate security events.

Build security foundations, investigate authorized events and learn entry-level security operations through hands-on defensive labs, log analysis and responsible AI-assisted triage. The course uses progressive weekly tasks, structured reviews and a final technical assessment to build practical skills and a documented portfolio. It is designed for career preparation, not as a guarantee of employment.

MAKE YOUR LEARNING VISIBLE

Projects and portfolio

Turn the syllabus into practical work you can explain, demonstrate and discuss in interviews.

PRACTICAL 1

Network traffic analysis

Inspect authorised packet captures and explain observed activity.

PRACTICAL 2

SIEM monitoring dashboard

Write searches and create a basic security monitoring view.

PRACTICAL 3

Phishing investigation

Prepare a defensible analysis using logs and email evidence.

CAPSTONE

Defensive investigation capstone

Present an incident timeline, findings and response recommendations.

Skills you will practise
  • Explain core cybersecurity principles, common threats and defensive controls.
  • Read basic network, Linux, Windows and cloud security logs.
  • Use a lab SIEM to search, interpret and triage alerts.
